24th Day Care Recognition Rites

24thdaycare01.jpgAfter another year of hard work and patience, the entire community of Calaca rejoiced in the celebration of 24th recognition of the Day Care children with the theme “To have good education and develop my potential”, which held in the municipal gymnasium on March 4 and 6, this year.
 

A total of 687-day care children from the 32-Day care centers in the municipality proudly received their certificates and medals of recognition in the said activity. To accommodate the graduates well in their momentous event, they were clustered into four (4). Cluster 1 is composed of barangays in Poblacion 1-6 and Timbain. The second cluster is composed of barangays Sinisian, Dila, Salong, Puting Bato East, Puting Bato West and Dacanlao. Cluster 3 is composed of barangay Putingkahoy, Lumbang na Matanda, Lumbang na Bata, Bisaya, Baclas, Tamayo, Niyugan and Madalunot. Lastly, cluster 4 is composed of barangays Pantay, Cahil, Loma, Taklang-anak, Coral ni Lopez, Coral ni Bacal, Makina and Calantas. Every cluster has their commencement speaker, Ms. Ma.Lourdes Marika N. Mercado for cluster 1, Ms. Heidi V. Bunyi for cluster 2, Ms. Janet S. Bactad for Cluster 3 and Ms. Lorna L. Aquino for cluster 4. Each speaker shared their vivid moments during childhood as part of their day care life, some  shared their experiences  being a day care worker before while others inspired graduates with their principles to become successful in life.

 

24thdaycare02.jpgAside from the wonderful intermission numbers of the day care children and parents, the event made even exciting after Ms. Ma. Cynthia P. Salazar MSWDO-OIC, hand in the certificates of recognition to the Outstanding Day Care Center, Mrs. Anabel Lasheras of barangay Taklang-Anak and Most Enhanced Day Care Center to San Rafael day Care Center headed by Ms. Edwina Dimaano.

 

Mayor Nas Ona, Vice-Mayor Larry Atienza and the Magnificent Seven Sangguniang Bayan members, attended the recognition activity. Parents and relatives of the graduates also joyfully took part in the celebration together with their respective barangay chairpersons.

 

The said occasion pushed through with the consistent support of the Ona-Atienza administration thru the of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office under the monitoring of the Day Care Coordinators Mrs. Ruth Lizardo and Mrs. Violeta Enriquez and with the help of the talented Day Care Workers as well as the cooperation from day care parents.

coastalcleanup0901.jpgNoong ika-19 ng Setyembre 2009 nakiisa ang mga mamamayang Calaqueño sa pagdiriwang ng taunang International Coastal Clean Up na pinangunahan ng mga kawani ng lokal na pamahalaan sa pakikiisa ng iba’t ibang kumpanya kabilang ang Phoenix Petroleum Terminal, Steel Asia, National Power Corporation-Batangas Coal Fired Thermal Power Plant Balayan Distillery, Inc., South Bay Bulk Terminal, Inc., Batangas I Electric Cooperative, Inc., Naging kaagapay rin sa paglilinis ang mga kawani ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Public Works and Highways, mga taga coastal barangays kabilang ang Barangay Sinisian, Talisay, Puting Bato West, Salong, Quizumbing, Camastilisan at San Rafael sa pamumuno ng mga kapitan gayundin ang mga mag-aaral sa sekundarya sa pamamatnubay ng kanilang mga guro at ang organisasyon ng Deputize Bantay Dagat. Sa nasabing aktibidad isinagawa ang paglilinis sa tabing dagat o sa mga coastal area upang bigyang halaga ang pangangalaga ng karagatan dala ng alon buhat sa tabi ng dagat na kung saan ay kumukuha ng pinagkakakitaan at pagkain ng mga mangingisda at ibang mamamayan.
